In the tourist town of Ado-Awaye, it is going to be a festival for sociocultural interaction and unity. On November 14, 15 and 16, 2023, Iyake Festival will hold as international festival in Ado-Awaye, bringing lovers of arts, culture, tourism and exploration from within Nigeria and the diasporas of the Caribbeans, America and so on.

This 2023 Iyake International Festival which is the third edition, will feature captivating events and promises exciting moments. The Alado of Ado-Awaye, HRH, Oba (Rev’d) Ademola Olugbile Folakanmi, Makuledoye ll will lead all festival participants through an ancient route to the top of Ado Mountain which harbours some wonders of tourist attractions like Elephant Tree, Ishage Boulder, Ladebo Cave, Iya Alado Lake and Iyake Lake that are both natural suspended lakes that are amazing to tourists in the world.

Iyake Lake is a special lake that has never dried up in the history of Ado-Awaye. Come rain, come shine, its volume remains the same. Iyake International Festival is a celebration that promotes Iyake Lake which people from diverse cultural heritages have witnessed since 2021.

A platform for the exhibition of literary and artistic talents and the celebration of the arts and cultural heritage of Ado-Awaye people, events of 2023 Iyake International Festival includes cultural carnival, festival discourse, Iyake beauty competition , mountain climbing for rhythm of a thousand drums, cultural displays, camp fire/all night camping celebration and the grand finale comprising speeches, asun/barbeque show, musical performances etc.

According to the Organising Committee Chairman, Bola Olalere, “Everything that will contribute to make Iyake International Festival 2023 a huge success, has been put in place.” Therefore, all roads should lead to Ado-Awaye from November 14 to 16, 2023 for the festival.

Together with Mr. Babalola Oladayo (Secretary), Mr. Alade Bello (Coordinator), Ebika Anthony, Mr. Ibi Sofekun, Mr. Isaac Bioku, Mr. Bashir Suleiman, Dr. Bimpe Aderounmu, Prince Niyi Okunade and Chief Nasir Oladokun as Organising Committee members, Iyake Festival will hold with glamour and splendour.

Organised by the Alado in Council Development Initiative (ALCODI) with the royal blessing of Oba (Rev’d) Ademola Olugbile Folakanmi, Makuledoye ll, Iyake Festival serves as a special meeting for social integration. It helps to foster oneness as people exchange ideas and network for the betterment of sustainable cultural development in the country.
