All Africa Media Network  Appreciates Ghana for Successful 5th Elders and Women Intercultural Dialogue

Accra, Ghana – The All Africa Media Network (AAMN) and Global Africans Against Slavery (GLAAS) have extended heartfelt appreciation to the Government and people of Ghana for their outstanding support and hospitality during the 5th African Elders and Women Intercultural Dialogue (AEWID), held recently in Accra.

In a joint statement, the organizers highlighted the strong collaboration from local partners, including the Diaspora Office of the President of Ghana, Obaapa Development Foundation, Silverbird Cinema, Citylights Group, and the EIB Network, whose contributions were instrumental in the success of the three-day event.

AEWID 2025 brought together elders, women leaders, youth, and diaspora representatives in a dynamic exchange of knowledge, culture, and strategies for inclusive development. The gathering focused on the enduring value of African indigenous systems in peacebuilding, policy-making, identity preservation, and sustainable development.

The event was chaired by H.E. Dr. Steven Gbatigbi Ben Joel, Head of Mission for the African Union Agenda 2063 Assembly, alongside Deputy Head of Mission Engr. Kingsley Okwara. Both participated in keynote addresses and panel discussions.

A goodwill message from Ghana’s Attorney-General and Minister for Justice, Hon. Dr. Dominic Akuritinga Ayine, delivered by his representatives, underscored Ghana’s ongoing support for intercultural and intergenerational dialogue.

One of the highlights of the Dialogue was the free public screening of the documentary No U-Turn at Silverbird Cinema produced by Ike Nnaebue, which ignited critical conversations around migration, freedom, and trafficking , led by Mr. Eric Boakye Peasah of Right to Freedom Ghana.

The event also welcomed prominent guests, including H.E. Fidelia Graand-Galon, Ambassador of Suriname, and featured contributions from Her royal highness Nanahemaa Adjoa Ankya Awindor (Obaapa Development Foundation) Seestah Imahkus Ababio (Mama One Africa) Victoria Michaels (Fashion Connect Africa), Kim Poole (Teaching Artist Institute), Dzifa Gray (host), Yemmybaba (Yemmynews.com) Rasheedah Fagbayi ( Pan Africa TradeFair Nigeria) , Ghana Prisons service, Police, and more.

Looking ahead, AAMN announced that the 6th edition of AEWID is scheduled to take place in Abuja, Nigeria, in May 2026, with final dates to be confirmed in alignment with the availability of key partners and participants.

As the movement continues to grow, AAMN and GLAAS reaffirm their commitment to amplifying African voices, fostering cultural pride, and advancing the campaign against human trafficking and migrant smuggling across the continent and diaspora.
