Professor James Smalls is a distinguished scholar activist, dynamic speaker, and organizational consultant. A graduate of the City College of New York, where he also taught for over fifteen years in the Department of Africana Studies, Prof. Smalls brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the table. His accolades include an Honorary Degree of Doctor of Divinity from Amen-Ra Theological Seminary, Los Angeles, CA.Prof. Smalls’ expertise spans various domains. He serves as the CEO of Sanaa Lodge Enterprise, Ghana, Ltd., and the African-American Management Company, Ghana, Ltd. Additionally, he holds prominent positions as the International Vice President of the Organization of Afro-American Unity (O.A.A.U.) and the World African Diaspora Union (WADU). Prof. Smalls is deeply rooted in spiritual practices, serving as a Priest of Oya, Babalorisha, Ifa Tradition, and a former Imam (retired) of the Muslim Mosque Inc., founded by Malcolm X.Notably, Prof. Smalls has made significant contributions to popular media and academia. He is the Chief Historical Consultant for MGM+’s Godfather of Harlem TV movie series, starring Forest Whittaker, and has been featured in numerous documentaries, including “HAPI,””1804,””Hidden Colors,” and “Out of Darkness.” His insights have also been sought for ABC Disney’s production, EPIX documentary series, and Smithsonian Channel documentary, “Cassius X: Becoming Ali.”In addition to his scholarly pursuits, Prof. Smalls is passionate about fostering cultural exchange and education.
