5th AEWID Opens in Accra, Panel Sessions, Free Health Screening with OLIF

The 5th African Elders and Women Intercultural Dialogue(AEWID)  is opening in Accra today after 7years as it was first held at the Accra International Conference Center on 25th April 2017. The African Elders and Women Intercultural Dialogue is an annual advocacy initiative committed to cultural revisioning and promoting the well-being of the African girl-child, women, and youth in post-colonial Africa. It serves as a platform for critically interrogating inherited and emerging norms that contribute to systemic underdevelopment and aims to inform transformative legislation across African nations.

The 2025 edition is in commemoration of the World Day Against Trafficking in Persons and will be held for 3days starting at British Council on today, with a free screening of documentary on Irregular Migration at Silverbird Cinema in Accra Mall today and completion of the Dialogue at the EximHall of the Africa Trade House.

Today’s event will be opening with Free Health Screening being offered by One Love Initiative Foundation(OLIF International) a global network and rebuilding civil society organisation which share a widespread passion in promoting, supporting and advancing the need for a transformational love ,peace and unity in different spheres of life, especially in the areas of nation building, human development, security and social networking. Olif Worldwide is a Non Profit Organization, a member of the Ghana NGO in Health and being led in Ghana by Mr. Albert Quansah and Mrs. MfonAbasi Bafoa

The opening session of the 3day event will feature presentations on Human Trafficking, with focus on Gender-Based Violence and Labour Exploitation: Understanding trafficking as a contemporary manifestation of slavery and gendered exploitation. With a second session on Human Exploitation – Organ Trafficking and Sexual Exploitation: A humanized analysis of organ trafficking and sexual exploitation within modern trafficking networks.

The presentations will be followed with Panel sessions  and an inclusive dialogue of interested participants. The  Dialogue is endorsed by Diaspora Affairs Office of the President Ghana, The African Union Agenda 2063 Ambassadorial Assembly, with  Silverbird Cinema, Accra City Hotel, Ceneros Hotel ,San Marino Hotel as partners,supported Bel Aqua and powered by Citylights group Ghana.
