Placing emphasis on corporate social responsibility that resonates deeply with African Women, especially as we end out Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the theme of the entire 7 days is “Rest, Relaxation, and Relationship Building for Global African Women”.

However, the sub-theme of the 2-Day Conference on 2nd and 3rd November at African Regent is “Game Changers – the Adoption and Implementation of the AU Decade of Women’s Economic and Financial Inclusion (2020-2023)”. The ADCCCI had a significant role to play as the newly established Chamber of Commerce specifically for the African Diaspora here in Ghana. ADCCCI has powered this event to bring awareness of the impact of African Women and how African Women owned businesses contribute heavily to the economy and the future development of Africa.

The 2023 AWES comprises over 10 activities starting 30 October at Number One Oxford Street and ending on 5 November in a farewell breakfast at Achimota Golf Club. The full 7 days includes activities like a full day at the spa at Kwarleyz Residences, a private Welcome dinner on the Beach with dignitaries, high-level business leaders, and African Diaspora stakeholders, a huge 2-Day Conference at African Regent with over 50 elite speakers including interactive workshops, panel discussions, how-to courses on standards from Ghana governmental agencies and hands on training sessions.

On the night of the 4th November the ADC-NSA Ambassador will host a Royal Gala and Awards Dinner for the 2023 AWES African Women Achievement Awards for 5 Global African Women including a private shopping experience for gala participants only and an After Party at the Underbridge in East Legon. (Partial proceeds of the Gala After Party will go towards the La Polyclinic medical equipment needs to service the community here in Ghana.)

The 2023 AWES summit is a unique opportunity to make a lasting impact on the lives of African women, fostering empowerment, unity, and awareness. Ambassador Davisha L Johnson, 2023 AWES event organizer stated, “After losing my grandmother last year in October and then my own mother 6 months later in March of this year I wanted to surround myself and other young African businesswomen with wisdom and prestige of the elite of Ghana and Africa that could empower me and other women in high-level careers as we also need empowerment as well. Sometimes you don’t know what people have been through and you see them from the outside only. This event is about creating a safe space for influential and elite women to get some much-needed rest, relaxation, and build some relationships going into the future of the Africa we want to see.”
